Appena 7 ettari di estensione, è un parco davvero unico nel panorama delle Aree Protette non soltanto del Lazio. La ricchezza di valori archeologici, paesaggistici e naturalistici testimonia l'importanza anche dei siti più piccoli all'interno della rete regionale di parchi e riserve.
Si trova tra le falde dei Monti Cimini, che si elevano a nord-est dominando la conca del lago di Vico e la piana di Viterbo, e quelle dei monti Sabatini a sud-ovest, a corona del bacino lacustre di Bracciano.

Il territorio del parco insiste sull'area subito a sud del centro storico di Sutri e comprende lo scenografico anfiteatro, la necropoli, il mitreo e il giardino della villa Savorelli
