E' il Parco più grande del centro-Italia. Dal 1995, anno di istituzione dell'Area Protetta, in quest'angolo straordinario d'Appennino i paesaggi, la flora, gli animali sono al centro di una nuova attenzione. A testimoniarlo, oltre alla crescita dell'offerta e della domanda turistica, sono le richieste di ingresso nel parco di Comuni ora esclusi. Nel Lazio ricade parte del settore della Laga, una montagna sconosciuta agli escursionisti fino a pochi anni fa e invece in grado di offrire molto.
Splendide escursioni hanno come meta le cascate formate dai torrenti che in primavera scendono copiosi dalle pendici del Gorzano e di Pizzo di Moscio, la cima della Laghetta e i due laghetti della Selva e Secco.
