Ben nota ai turisti che la visitano durante l'estate, con la piccola e vicina Santo Stefano l'isola di Ventotene è compresa dal 1997 entro i confini di una riserva sia marina che terrestre. Entrambi costituiscono la parte emersa di un antico vulcano e conservano fondali di grande bellezza.
