L'area protetta include i romantici ruderi della "città morta" Ninfa, con la loro atmosfera fuori dal tempo, che sorgono ai margini della piana tagliata dall'Appia sotto le pendici brulle dei monti Lepini.

L'oasi di Ninfa è visitabile solo in alcuni giorni dell'anno, e comunque da aprile a novembre. La visita è guidata.
